Research: 3Q21 AVOD Viewership

There is a lot of research around consumer’s streaming habits nowadays, but the majority of viewership is dominated by SVODs, or Subscription Video on Demand services like Netflix or Disney +. We sought to fill a hole in our knowledge and investigate consumer’s role with AVODs more closely, focusing on why, how and when consumers pick up a remote and select streaming content that shows ads.
Methodology:

In June 2021, Broadbeam surveyed 1000 individuals online who actively use streaming services on their televisions. Quotas were applied to ensure accurate national representation. To create accurate calculations of streaming service costs, SVOD / AVOD hybrids, type of access and average prices of services in different niches were considered.
